Significant Matters

  • Ms. Hale has successfully represented employee-participants in group disability plans who were denied benefits.  See e.g. Audino v. MetLife, 129 Fed.Appx, 882, 2005 U.S. App. Lexis 6124, 35 Employee Benefits Cas. (BNA) 1958
  • In May 2007, Ms. Hale and Ms. Hooper obtained a six-figure jury verdict in favor of female employee subjected to retaliation under Title VII and the Equal Pay Act.
  • Ms. Hale has obtained arbitration awards in favor of various clients, including a business broker who brought a breach of contract claim, and an employee who was being sued for breach of a covenant not to compete.  See InfoExperts v. Aripaka.
  • Ms. Hale successfully defended a bank, both in the trial court and the appellate court, in claims brought by a contractor for various torts and breach of contract.  Barnett v. Legacy Bank of Texas, 2003 Tex. App. LEXIS 8873.
  • Ms. Hale has negotiated numerous settlements and severance agreements for employees with claims for various discrimination and/or retaliation claims.
