Barbara T. Hale, Esq. is a partner in Blanscet, Sutherland, Hooper & Hale, LLP. Ms. Hale represents clients in general civil litigation and appeals in cases covering a multitude of business and employment-related issues. In addition to handling litigation matters, Ms. Hale frequently advises and counsels clients on virtually all aspects of employment law, including non-compete agreements, executive compensation agreements, ERISA compliance, and discrimination claims based on age, gender, sex, disability, and the Family Medical Leave Act. In law school, Ms. Hale was a member of the Texas Wesleyan Law Review and a Quarter-Finalist in the Texas Mock Trial competition. Following graduation from law school, Ms. Hale served as a briefing attorney to the Honorable Tom James of the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Dallas, Texas.

AREAS of PRACTICE

Civil Litigation: Ms. Hale has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, and arbitration forums. Her practice is concentrated in business and commercial litigation, including breach of contract, fraud, debt collection, deceptive trade practices, employment disputes, partnership and shareholder disputes.

Employment Law: Ms. Hale represents both employers and employees in the following areas: employment discrimination based on age, race, gender, sexual harassment and disability; discipline and discharge; contract negotiation and preparation of executive employment agreements, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements; drafting and reviewing of employee handbooks; implementation of personnel policies; development of employment applications and contracts; advice on drug and alcohol policies and compliance; mediation and arbitration of employment disputes; and employee privacy rights.
